What is one surefire way to get a chronic non-responder to respond to a text?
Easy. Send them this: “I saw you on TV.”
They will write you back immediately. “What? Where? What was I doing?”
Ha! Gotcha.
Today though, if someone texts me to let me know that they saw me on TV, I will know that it is not a trap. I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the great people at KOIN-6 on Thursday, April 16th.
I was a little nervous, but you probably couldn’t tell because I just followed that age-old advice to calm stage fright, and I imagined myself in my underwear. Also, before I began the interview, I warmed up my vocals with this line, “She stood upon the balcony, inimitably mimicking him, hiccupping and amicably welcoming him in.” Pretty sure that’s a direct quote from The King’s Speech.
