I wanted to share a quick story with you about a recently completed pet portrait.
I was commissioned to paint a dog portrait for a client for her son’s birthday. She explained their dog is getting older and they have had the beloved furry family member since her son was young, and her son absolutely loves that dog.
So, I got to work creating the pet portrait painting. When finished, I scheduled a day and time to meet my client to deliver the painting. It is my process to email a photo of the finished painting prior to delivery or shipping - which she saw several days earlier.
She really liked the photo, but when she was able to hold and see the actual painting in front of her, she was amazed. As she looked at it, she began to cry, and told me it looks exactly like her Frodo, and reassured me her son was going to love it.
She gave it to him several days later and sent me a text… ‘He loves it, and his girlfriend cried. She thought it was so good’.
That’s why I do what I do… To bring joy to owners of furry family members everywhere! I have the privilege to honor these beloved furry family members in paint.
