Tears & Smiles

I recently finished a memorial pet portrait for my client, Vanessa. I had the honor to paint her beloved dog Bolt. It was such a blast to work on this portrait and capture his spunky personality.

About half of my pet portraits are memorial commissions, and I am grateful I have the opportunity to create such a special painting to honor and treasure our furry family members who are no longer with us. That’s why I do what I do.

Below is Vanessa’s story…

I saw Nathan’s segment on the local news several years ago. Since then, I knew that I would contact him when my little guy passed. Bolt crossed over the rainbow in June 2021 and shortly after Nathan began working on Bolt’s painting. The process was easy, and Nathan was very responsive and shared progress photos. I cried when I saw his completed painting, it looks so realistic. Nathan was able to capture Bolt’s personality, down to his head tilt and tongue poking out. The color of his fur and eye color is spot on, it feels like Bolt is looking right at me begging for a treat. I will cherish my painting forever. Nathan is an amazing artist and his paintings are worth every dollar you spend.
